HeartStart is an initiative set up by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) to train members of the public in emergency life support. A typical lesson lasts around 3 hours and covers what to do in the case of a cardiac arrest, an unconscious casualty, a heart attack, choking, and bleeding.

HeartStart is a great way to get involved in the community as well as teaching. Sessions are regularly run at local GPs, sports clubs, and schools. No previous teaching experience is required as students will all be trained up at a “Train the Trainer” course and earn a qualification allowing you to lead lessons, all that’s required for this programme is enthusiasm!
